The Workshop Rotational Model Sunday School is a product of the belief that children have different learning styles and that each of us has a "preferred" style that helps us to learn and understand information. This approach to Sunday School allows the child to experience God's Word through a Variety of "hands-on" learning experiences.
Our goal at Our Redeemers is to teach the Bible stories in a fashion that captures the attention and imagination of each child. We believe that optimum learning about God and His word can take place if a child can not only hear the story, but also experience it in a way that creates a lasting impression. We strive to create an atmosphere that makes learning about God fun and appeals to a variety of interests.
Rotation Description
Each year we will present five units each consisting of six weeks. We
begin each Sunday with a gathering in the sanctuary (Grades 1-7) for a short
time of music, lesson, offering and prayers. The children then proceed to
their workshop. Each class will be in only one workshop per Sunday so that
by the end of six weeks each child will have experienced the workshop per Sunday
so that by the end of six weeks each child will have experienced the story in
six separate labs.
-3 Year olds - Kindergarten will meet in their classroom and will have a gathering
during the Sunday School hour. These children will not rotate but
experience the same story for 6 weeks in a classroom.
-8th and 9th Graders are helpers in all the classrooms and workshops and will be
changing every 6 weeks.
