As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit: We commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our calling, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society and the world.
Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church Family Units consists of all women & men of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church. The names of the women are divided into seven groups called Work Units. Each Work Unit serves funeral lunches on a rotation basis as well as other ORW functions. The ORW provides many activities throughout the year for members to attend and participate in. A Bible study is conducted on the second Tuesday of each month in the Fellowship Café with coffee served at 9:00 and the Bible study begins at 9:30. The monthly Bible study is taken from the “Gather” magazine provided by the Women of the ELCA. The ORW provides quarterly activities during the year. The ORW provides Bibles to the third grade Sunday school students. We acknowledge women in November on ”Women’s Sunday”! We also enthusiastically promote our annual “Our Redeemer’s Smorgasbord” which is held on the fourth Wednesday in October. This is a major fund-raiser to provide monetary support to the missionaries stationed in Japan. The OR Quilters meet each Wednesday to design, sew and tie quilts for missions at home and abroad. We provide quilts to local charities and residents at the nursing home. The “gift of a quilt” made with loving care is given to high school graduating seniors each spring. With baptisms at Our Redeemer’s Church, a baby quilt is presented to the parents. The OR Quilters donate “Red, White & Blue Quilts” to veterans at the Veterans Hospital in St Cloud. A quilt is donated to Luther Crest Bible Camp for their quilt auction. Several OR Quilts are donated to Lutheran World Relief at the SW MN Synod Convention. We are actively involved in support of missions within our community. We generously support Prairie Five; Shelter House, Inc.; Woodland Center; Human Services; Heartland Girls Ranch; Pastor Julie Grothe’s Homeless Ministry; Marie Sandvik Center; Lutheran Campus Ministries; Lutheran Social Services; Lutheran World Relief; Salvation Army; American Red Cross. The Women of the Altar Guild assist the communion on “Communion Sunday”. The Altar Guild is responsible for the care of the altar paraments, acolyte gowns and church banners. We belong to the Glacial Ridge Conference and we attend Spring and Fall Gatherings in specified churches within our conference. We attend the annual SW MN Synod Convention each spring.

The symbol - with the cross, water, and a white lily - identifies the Women of the Evangelical Church in America as children of God; baptized, forgiven, adopted into God's family, full of grace and hope in eternal life. It is a reminder of the growth, beauty and vitality that rises out of that life-giving baptism water. It is also a reminder of the missions of the church to "GO, therefore, make disciples of all nations; baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
